It is soon Christmas and the petty-criminal Bernandas from Lithuania run into Norway with a sealed cargo, commissioned by the Russian gangster boss Doskino. The contact to take over the cargo never appears at the remote cabin near Fredrikstad.
When Bernandas discovers what kind of «goods» he has smuggled, he realizes that he's in danger and is panicked. The next day, the older teacher Viggo Holm is found murdered in his home in Sarpsborg. It turns out that Holm and Bernandas ' contact is the same man.
A reluctant Anton Brekke is put on the case. In parallel with the investigation, we follow Bernandas' increasingly desperate struggle to get out of the trouble he is in, stranded in a foreign country and sandwiched between a murder investigation and threats from the gangster boss in Lithuania.
